What is Primer?
Overview
Primer provides tools for agents and applications to send and receive micropayments without gas fees. The x402 facilitator supports all ERC-20 tokens and works alongside an SDK for building agent-enabled payment systems. Users interact through desktop and browser applications including Primer Pay for paywall access and MultiClaw for agent payment management.
How it works
The protocol operates on Base and other chains through the x402 facilitator combined with privacy infrastructure using onion routing and dark pools. The Primer Network consists of distributed nodes that operators can earn rewards for by staking PR tokens, creating a decentralized micropayment layer.
Token and supply
PR is staked to operate nodes within the Primer Network. Maximum supply is 287 million tokens with a total supply of approximately 286.4 million. The token is used to secure network participation and earn rewards from node operation.
