What is Kinetiq?
Liquid staking infrastructure
Kinetiq accepts HYPE and issues kHYPE as the liquid representation of a staking position. StakeHub selects validators, monitors their performance and rebalances delegations. Validator rewards increase the HYPE represented by each kHYPE. The receipt token can be used in compatible lending, exchange and liquidity protocols. Direct withdrawals follow a queued process with a security delay. KNTQ launched on November 27, 2025.
Governance and revenue
Holders can stake KNTQ to obtain sKNTQ for governance. Direct sKNTQ withdrawal has a seven-day waiting period. Staking tiers also provide referral benefits and defined kmHYPE minting access. Under KIP-2, 70% of protocol revenue is assigned to KNTQ buybacks. Kinetiq's share of validator commissions also funds buybacks. Purchased tokens and fees already paid in KNTQ are sent to Hyperliquid's Assistance Fund for permanent removal from supply.
Supply and vesting
KNTQ has a maximum supply of one billion tokens. Core contributors and investors follow the same three-year vesting schedule. Their allocations have a one-year cliff followed by two years of monthly release. Designated revenue from Markets and Launch contributes additional buyback funding. The September 2026 token documentation sets out these mechanisms separately from the staking rewards accruing to kHYPE.
