What is Liqwid Finance?
Overview
Liqwid Finance operates as an algorithmic liquidity protocol within the Cardano ecosystem. Users supply assets to earn interest through the protocol's pooled liquidity smart contracts, or borrow Cardano native assets by posting supplied holdings as collateral. The protocol is fully non-custodial, meaning users maintain control of their funds throughout all interactions.
How it works
The protocol functions through a set of money market smart contracts deployed on Cardano. Lenders mint tokens by supplying assets to these contracts, while borrowers call the borrow function to access loans secured by their supplied collateral. The contracts automatically manage interest rates and maintain reserve requirements algorithmically.
Token and supply
LQ is the protocol's governance token, granting holders voting rights in decentralized decision-making. When staked, LQ generates yield from two sources: liquidation profits and a share of total protocol revenue. The maximum supply is fixed at 21 million tokens, with approximately 20.3 million currently in circulation.
