What is LocalCoinSwap?
Peer-to-peer trading
LocalCoinSwap lets users trade cryptocurrencies directly with other users. Advertisers specify payment methods and trade conditions. The marketplace supports fiat payment options rather than a single order-book settlement system. Escrow helps coordinate the crypto side of a transaction. Its non-custodial design allows users to retain control of supported wallets. LCS is an ERC-20 asset separate from the cryptocurrencies offered in those trades.
Voting and token model
The original token model included dividend distributions. A community vote in 2019 selected a buyback-and-burn replacement. The announced model allocated part of exchange fees to purchasing LCS on the market. Purchased tokens were then burned to reduce supply. Community votes used voting tokens distributed in proportion to LCS balances. Token holders could influence decisions about the platform's token economy. This history does not establish a fixed current payout schedule. LCS participation is separate from validating the Ethereum blockchain.
