What is Main Street Yield?
Two-token system
Main Street separates its stablecoin from its investment strategy. Its msUSD token is backed by USDC. Participants stake msUSD to obtain MSY. MSY accrues the returns of the associated strategy. The token is therefore distinct from a dollar token redeemable at a fixed face value.
Options strategy
The strategy uses options box spreads to generate financing returns. Matched call and put positions offset directional exposure. Their combined payoff establishes an implied lending rate. This structure seeks delta-neutral returns from traditional financial markets. Changes in market rates can still affect the value of positions before maturity.
Onchain structure
The documented MSY contract is deployed on Ethereum. Main Street also maintains separate minting, custody and bridging contracts. Direct msUSD minting and redemption require verified onboarding. LayerZero infrastructure supports the ecosystem's crosschain design. The strategy depends on offchain execution and custody as well as smart contracts. Its token value reflects strategy financing conditions rather than only bank-held dollars.
