What is Maverick Protocol?
Overview
Maverick Protocol operates as a next-generation automated market maker (AMM) that simplifies decentralized finance by allowing users to automate liquidity management through selectable movement modes. The protocol supports customized liquidity distributions, fee auto-compounding, and native liquid staking token (LST) integration with price-following functionality. It serves traders and liquidity providers seeking efficient capital deployment across multiple blockchain networks.
How it works
Maverick AMM is deployed across Ethereum, Base, BNB Chain, and zkSync, enabling cross-chain liquidity access. The protocol features boosted positions for liquidity shaping and automated rebalancing that removes manual position management requirements. Users can select how their liquidity behaves within the AMM, reducing complexity in protocol interaction.
Token and supply
MAV is the native governance token of Maverick Protocol, enabling holder participation in protocol decisions through a Voting Escrow (veMAV) mechanism. Stakers lock MAV tokens to receive veMAV, with longer lock periods providing greater voting power. The token has a maximum supply of 2 billion MAV. Governance is designed to concentrate voting influence among users with sustained ecosystem commitment.
Team and history
Maverick raised $18 million across three funding rounds from investors including Pantera Capital, Coinbase Ventures, Binance Labs, Circle Ventures, and others. The protocol launched on Ethereum Mainnet in March 2023, followed by zkSync Era in April 2023 and BNB Chain in June 2023.
