What is Medibloc?
Healthcare infrastructure
Panacea provides blockchain infrastructure for health-data services. MediBloc's ecosystem includes patient-facing data tools and healthcare-provider applications. The project uses an incentive model around contributions to health information. Its public-chain architecture is based on the Cosmos SDK. Inter-Blockchain Communication supports connections with other compatible networks. The August 2026 upgrade moved the network to newer Cosmos SDK, CometBFT and IBC-Go versions.
Validators and MED
Validators run full nodes and participate in consensus. They create blocks and receive compensation for their work. Validators also participate in network governance. MED holders can delegate coins instead of operating a node themselves. Delegators receive a share of rewards after the validator's commission. Malicious behavior and prolonged downtime can lead to slashing. This penalty can affect both validators and their delegators. MED's staking economy supports the underlying chain, while the healthcare applications define their own data-sharing workflows.
