What is Movement?

Application environment

Movement uses the Move Virtual Machine for execution. Move's resource model is designed for financial assets with explicit ownership rules. Applications use MOVE for network transaction charges. The current ecosystem includes lending, trading and stablecoin services. Movement also provides a canonical bridge for moving supported assets.

Staking and participation

MOVE holders can stake through the network's staking interface. Validators participate in the network's security model. Staking rewards support this participation. The token is also available as an Ethereum ERC-20 representation. Governance expansion forms part of the project's decentralization plan.

Token allocation

The published maximum supply is ten billion MOVE. Ecosystem and community programs receive 40%. Initial claims receive 10%, with another 10% reserved for the foundation. Early contributors receive 17.5%. Early backers receive 22.5%. These pools follow separate release arrangements rather than one simultaneous public distribution.
