What is MX?
Issuance and supply policy
MEXC introduced MX with an initial supply of one billion tokens. MX uses the ERC-20 standard and can be transferred through Ethereum wallets. The exchange subsequently reduced supply through buybacks and burns. MX Token 2.0 reorganized reserve allocations in 2021. Its deflation programme targeted circulating supply below 100 million MX. MEXC announced completion of that first phase in December 2025. The 100 million threshold concerns circulation, not the original total issuance. The next framework focuses on expanding utility within the exchange ecosystem.
Exchange use
MX provides trading-fee benefits under MEXC's applicable account rules. Holdings also determine eligibility for Kickstarter events. Participants commit MX to calculate their allocation of a project's token rewards. The committed amount is not deducted or frozen under the published Kickstarter rules. MEXC uses balance snapshots to establish the qualifying amount. Reward allocations depend on valid commitments and the event's distribution pool. Launchpool provides another route to eligible token distributions. These programmes are administered by MEXC and have separate participation conditions.
