What is Nervos Network?
Network and programming model
Nervos CKB launched its mainnet in November 2019. The network uses Proof of Work with the Eaglesong hashing algorithm. NC-Max governs its consensus process. Its Cell model generalizes transaction outputs to hold assets, scripts and application data. CKB-VM executes validation programs using the RISC-V instruction set.
Storage capacity
One CKB corresponds to one byte of state-storage capacity. Creating a cell requires enough capacity for its contents and associated data. Capacity remains occupied while that cell exists. Spending or replacing the cell can release capacity for other uses. CKB also pays transaction fees when users transfer assets or update application state.
Base and secondary issuance
The mining base-issuance allocation totals 33.6 billion CKB. The base subsidy halves at intervals of approximately four years. A separate secondary issuance adds 1.344 billion CKB per year. Secondary rewards compensate miners and govern the economic cost of occupied state. Deposits in Nervos DAO receive compensation for the dilution associated with secondary issuance. Because this secondary schedule continues, CKB has no final fixed supply cap.
