What is AB?
Network and applications
AB combines an EVM-compatible core network with infrastructure for connected devices. AB Core supports smart contracts and Ethereum development tools. AB IoT is designed for devices with limited processing and memory resources. Its architecture uses lightweight asynchronous messages and data anchoring. Specialized chains connect through the ecosystem's modular infrastructure. AB Connect provides cross-chain connections. The documented consensus design uses authorized validators rather than computational mining.
Asset and issuance
AB pays transaction fees within the ecosystem. A portion of network fees is burned under the documented economic model. The maximum token supply is 100 billion units. Reserved allocations support infrastructure, development and ecosystem participation. The March 7, 2025 announcement described the NEW-to-AB transition as a name and ticker change with balances unchanged. NewPay updated its displayed asset name accordingly. The token's whitepaper does not grant holders automatic governance or ownership rights in the project.
