What is Nexa?
Overview
Nexa is a UTXO-based Layer 1 blockchain using proof-of-work consensus. It aims to address scalability bottlenecks by optimizing signature verification and UTXO lookups through hardware acceleration. The network supports native tokens and smart contracts for decentralized applications.
How it works
Nexa employs Graphene, a block propagation protocol that uses Invertible Bloom Lookup Tables to compress blocks by 99.6%, reducing network overhead. DS-Proof is a permission-less technology enabling instant transactions without requiring block confirmations.
Token and supply
NEXA is the native asset of the blockchain, used to pay transaction fees. Maximum supply is capped at 21 trillion tokens. The network operates on proof-of-work issuance mechanics similar to other PoW blockchains.
Team and history
Nexa is developed by Bitcoin Unlimited, a team of experienced blockchain architects with a history in Bitcoin Cash development.
