What is Nockchain?
Ledger and computation
Nockchain records value as unspent notes in a UTXO ledger. Transactions consume existing notes and create new ones under programmable spending conditions. Current conditions include signatures, time locks and hash conditions. The live ZK mining lane proves a fixed computation defined by the protocol. A second live lane performs eligible matrix calculations for AI models chosen by callers. Both participate in one accumulated-work fork-choice system. NockApps execute outside the base chain with their own persistent state and deterministic rules. General application-proof settlement and stronger transaction privacy remain in development.
Supply and rewards
Consensus caps issuance at 4,294,967,296 NOCK. One NOCK contains 65,536 atomic units called nicks. The active Aletheia schedule reduces block issuance through successive emission eras rather than repeated halvings. It terminates issuance when cumulative supply reaches the cap. Newly issued block rewards are split 80% to the miner and 20% to the protocol fund. Transaction fees go entirely to the miner. The ZK and AI mining lanes share the same monetary schedule.
