What is Noon USN?
Stablecoin and staking
USN is the dollar-denominated token used within Noon. Ordinary USN holdings do not receive the protocol's yield. Users stake USN to obtain sUSN instead. The staked token earns returns generated by Noon. NOON is a separate token used for protocol governance.
Reserve deployment
Noon allocates backing reserves across an approved basket of strategies. These include tokenized Treasury bills and private credit. The basket also includes collateralized loan obligations and DeFi lending. Principal tokens and delta-neutral funding trades provide additional strategy categories. Allocations change with market conditions rather than following a single permanent portfolio.
Issuance and exits
Institutions can mint and redeem USN directly after business verification. Other participants can obtain it through the Noon application and secondary markets. Converting sUSN back into USN currently involves a seven-day cooldown. Selling sUSN directly provides another exit route when liquidity is available. Strategy admission requires community evaluation and governance approval. Yield remains dependent on the performance of the reserve portfolio.
