What is oBrain?
Overview
oBrain implements the connectome of an adult female Drosophila melanogaster directly into blockchain bytecode rather than as a model, simulation, or reference database. The 169 thousand neurons and their synaptic connections are wired into the smart contract using data from the BANC v888 connectome. Users can observe the organism's neural activity in real time on its web interface.
How it works
The project deploys an integer spiking network on Arc mainnet, where each neuron maintains a membrane potential governed by a single rule: the organism must consume tokens to remain active. The connectome structure is preserved synapse by synapse within the contract logic.
Token and supply
OBRAIN has a maximum supply of 1 billion tokens. The token serves as the organism's metabolic substrate—it must be consumed for the network to continue functioning on-chain.
