What is OpenEden OpenDollar?
Issuer and reserves
OpenEden Digital, a subsidiary of OpenEden Group, issues USDO through a Bermuda segregated accounts structure. The issuer holds a digital asset business licence from the Bermuda Monetary Authority. USDO targets a value of one US dollar per token. Its reserves generate income through assets connected to US Treasury bills and reverse repurchase agreements. The documented reserve products include TBILL, BUIDL, VBILL and USYC. Yield is distributed through daily increases in token balances.
Token formats
USDO uses rebasing to accrue yield while maintaining its dollar unit value. Its cUSDO wrapper instead maintains a constant balance and accrues value through its conversion rate. Holders can convert between the formats through the wrapper contract. USDO is documented on Ethereum, Base and BNB Chain. Direct minting and redemption require eligibility approval and identity checks. The published criteria include non-US residency and a minimum initial purchase of $100,000. Manual redemptions return USDC after verification and burning the redeemed USDO. Settlement typically takes one business day and may take two. An additional instant facility depends on available underlying liquidity.
