What is Orchid Protocol?
Overview
Orchid Protocol organizes bandwidth providers into a peer-to-peer network called the Orchid Market. Users connect to this market and pay providers to route their internet traffic through proxy chains, ensuring no single node knows both their identity and their destination. The system is designed to restore open internet access by creating a marketplace for bandwidth that resists monitoring, control, and censorship.
How it works
The protocol structures proxy chains so that information about data sources remains separate from information about destinations. This architectural separation is reinforced by strong resistance to collusion attacks, preventing groups of bandwidth providers from combining their knowledge to identify users. The network operates on Ethereum as the underlying blockchain infrastructure.
Token and supply
OXT is the native token of Orchid Protocol, used to facilitate payments between users and bandwidth providers within the marketplace. The total supply is fixed at 1 billion tokens with no maximum supply listed. Token holders can stake OXT to participate in the network as bandwidth providers or stake to earn rewards through the protocol's proof-of-stake mechanism.
