What is Origin Dollar?
Overview
OUSD is a stablecoin designed to accrue value passively while held in user wallets. Unlike traditional stablecoins that remain inert, OUSD deploys its backing collateral into DeFi lending and liquidity protocols to generate yield. This yield is distributed daily to token holders through an automatic rebase mechanism.
How it works
OUSD operates on Ethereum. The protocol automatically routes collateral across multiple DeFi strategies—including platforms like Morpho and Curve—to optimize returns. Capital allocation is managed dynamically, with the system continuously moving funds between strategies based on yield opportunities.
Peg and backing
OUSD maintains a 1:1 USD peg and is fully backed by USDC collateral. The stablecoin's value is secured by these reserves, which are actively deployed to generate yield rather than held idle. New OUSD tokens are issued when users deposit USDC, and the protocol's rebase mechanism adjusts balances daily to distribute accrued yield.
