What is Pipe Network?
Overview
Pipe Network addresses inefficiencies in conventional CDNs and cloud infrastructure by deploying hyperlocal Points of Presence within approximately 50 miles of users. This architecture reduces latency to single-digit milliseconds, improves throughput, and decreases delivery costs substantially. The network serves applications requiring fast, distributed content and compute resources.
How it works
Smart contracts on Solana coordinate the network by verifying proof-of-delivery, managing node reputation, and automating payments between users and operators. Community-run nodes provide storage and bandwidth services, with protocol verification ensuring reliability without central control. The network has delivered over 60 petabytes of data and transferred more than 1 billion files.
Token and supply
PIPE is a utility token that purchases bandwidth, storage, and compute credits through a burn-to-credit model, directly linking token demand to actual network usage. Maximum supply is fixed at 1 billion tokens. The token supply mechanics tie infrastructure consumption directly to token economics.
