What is Quantoz EURQ?
Overview
EURQ is a stablecoin maintaining a 1:1 peg to the euro. It is issued by Quantoz Payments BV, an Electronic Money Institution operating under supervision of the Dutch Central Bank (DNB). The token serves to provide regulated euro exposure for crypto trading and arbitrage, particularly across European exchanges. Its whitepaper as an Electronic Money Token has been submitted to Dutch financial authorities (AFM) for MiCA compliance.
How it works
EURQ tokens are issued as ERC-20 contracts and deployed across multiple blockchains: Ethereum, Polygon, Algorand, and XRP Ledger. Tokens are distributed through authorized primary market brokers to crypto exchanges. The multi-chain deployment enables wider accessibility while maintaining consistent peg mechanics.
Peg and backing
The stablecoin maintains its euro peg through 102% backing, a requirement enforced by regulation. Reserve euros are held by Stichting Quantoz, a bankruptcy-remote foundation, on accounts with systemically important banks and in highly liquid euro bonds. The foundation is subject to prudential supervision by the Dutch Central Bank, ensuring reserve integrity.
Supply
Total supply is 6 million EURQ tokens with no maximum supply cap. New tokens are issued through authorized brokers based on demand and euro reserves available. Tokens can be redeemed for underlying euros through the issuer.
