What is Quantus?
Overview
Quantus Network is a Layer 1 blockchain that addresses the vulnerability of legacy elliptic curve cryptography to quantum attacks. It integrates NIST-approved quantum-resistant cryptographic primitives at the protocol level to protect value transfers, account management, and application execution. The network prioritizes security and self-custody.
How it works
Quantus operates as a Proof-of-Work blockchain built on the Parity Substrate stack. Transaction signatures use Dilithium (ML-DSA), while peer-to-peer communications are secured with ML-KEM, both lattice-based alternatives to elliptic curves. Zero-knowledge aggregation via Plonky2 and Poseidon2 maintains throughput despite larger signature sizes.
Token and supply
QTC is the native asset of the Quantus blockchain. It has a maximum supply of 21 million tokens. The token functions as the primary unit for transaction fees and network operations.
