What is Rain?

Protocol and issuance

RAIN trading started on March 24, 2025. The token follows Ethereum's ERC-20 standard on Arbitrum. Its total supply is 1.15 trillion tokens. Rain Foundation oversees issuance and the project's governance framework. Team, presale and strategic allocations have predefined vesting arrangements.

Prediction markets

Rain lets users create public or private markets around events. Traders buy outcome shares through an automated market maker. Liquidity balances influence the prices of those shares. Settlement follows the market's specified resolution process, which can involve its creator or an AI oracle. Disputed outcomes can be escalated to human oracles.

Governance role

The whitepaper assigns RAIN a governance role in a planned DAO. Holding RAIN is not a prerequisite for trading, depositing collateral or creating markets. The token does not represent equity in Rain Foundation. It also provides no contractual claim on profits or redemption proceeds. Arbitrum supplies the underlying execution network rather than a separate RAIN blockchain.
