What is Re Protocol reUSDe?
Capital and underwriting
Users deposit eligible stable assets to receive reUSDe. The protocol channels capital into collateralized reinsurance arrangements through licensed insurers. Insurance premiums contribute to the strategy's returns. The published design also uses Ethena's staked dollar asset for idle capital. Token value is tracked through net asset value accounting. Underwriting exposure makes the strategy different from the separate reUSD product. Returns depend on investment performance and the results of the reinsurance programs.
Redemptions and access
The documentation describes quarterly redemption windows for reUSDe. Requests are filled according to capital released and available for repayment. This timing differs from an always-available stablecoin redemption. Secondary-market liquidity is a separate route for exchanging tokens. Participants must complete KYC and AML checks. Access is restricted to eligible non-US users in permitted jurisdictions. Capital remains exposed to underwriting and collateral risks. The token is an investment position in the protocol's strategy rather than an insurance policy for its holder.
