What is RedStone?
Oracle infrastructure
RedStone was founded in April 2021 and began mainnet operation in January 2023. Its oracle system supplies the external information used by lending markets, trading applications and tokenized assets. Data inputs include centralized exchanges and onchain trading venues. The modular architecture separates data sourcing from the delivery method used by each application. Products support both push updates and pull-based data access. Specialized feeds cover liquid staking assets, reserves and tokenized-asset valuations.
Staking and data services
RED is an ERC-20 token issued on Ethereum. RedStone's staking design connects RED to its EigenLayer Actively Validated Service. Data providers can commit tokens to support their participation in the oracle network. Token holders can also contribute through the network's staking framework. The published economic model links staking incentives to usage of RedStone's data services.
Supply allocation
RED has a hardcoded maximum supply of one billion tokens in a non-upgradeable contract. The updated launch allocation assigned 48.3% to ecosystem and community categories. Core contributors received 20%, while early backers received 31.7%. The published token generation schedule made 28% available initially. The remaining 72% was initially locked and follows a release schedule extending over four years. Cross-chain representations use Wormhole's Native Token Transfer infrastructure.
