What is River?
Cross-chain borrowing
River’s Omni-CDP design separates the location of collateral from the destination of borrowed funds. A user can deposit collateral on one supported chain. The system can issue satUSD on another supported chain. Outstanding debt remains connected with the deposited collateral. Liquidation and stability mechanisms support that borrowing model. Smart Vault combines stablecoin issuance with deployment into supported strategies.
Token and incentives
RIVER has a published maximum supply of one hundred million tokens. Its token rollout began in September 2025. The framework uses locked participation for voting over ecosystem parameters and incentives. Amount and locking duration affect participation weight. River’s points programme connects activity with airdrop conversion. Its May 2026 update introduced recurring quarterly seasons. Conversion terms depend on the season and the time of conversion. Longer staking periods can also affect those terms. The published programme offers durations from three to twenty-four months. RIVER is distinct from satUSD, the dollar-referenced borrowing asset. Holding the governance token alone does not represent a collateralized dollar balance.
