What is Fabric Protocol?
Robotics network
Fabric Foundation introduced ROBO in February 2026. Its protocol targets general-purpose robotics. RoboPay is designed to give robots programmable wallets and on-chain identities. Machines can use these accounts for compute, energy and maintenance payments. Fabric also develops data bounties for robotics training. Buyers specify tasks and quality requirements before contributors collect data.
Participation and allocation
Fabric's initial network design uses Base. A separate Layer 1 is planned as adoption grows. ROBO is intended for network fees, staking and governance. Staking provides access weighting for robot coordination and developer participation. Verified contributions can earn rewards for skills, tasks, data, compute and validation. The initial allocation assigns 29.7% to ecosystem and community development. Investors receive 24.3%, while team members and advisers receive 20%. Those two allocations have a twelve-month cliff followed by thirty-six months of linear vesting. ROBO participation does not confer ownership of robot hardware or revenue rights.
