What is SEDA?
Data infrastructure
SEDA operates a Layer 1 where developers deploy Oracle Programs and Data Proxies. Oracle Programs fetch external or onchain data and apply deterministic computation to produce structured results. Data Proxies connect authenticated APIs to the network without exposing the provider's API key to ordinary requesters. Outputs can reach applications through blockchain delivery or supported API and WebSocket connections. This architecture supports custom data workflows beyond standard price feeds.
Network token
The chain uses Proof of Stake, with validators staking SEDA for block production and batch signing. Delegators can support validators through the native staking interface. Validators receive rewards from native issuance and can face slashing for protocol violations. Infrastructure operators querying Data Proxies also require stake. SEDA pays for computation, data delivery and deployment of programs and proxies. Network execution includes token burning on applicable request paths. Validators and delegators participate in onchain governance over protocol proposals. Issuance and burning both affect supply, so the token economy cannot be described solely as a fixed supply reduced by usage.
