What is Sentient?
Research and products
Sentient develops open-source AI research and infrastructure. Its early core contributors include Pramod Viswanath, Himanshu Tyagi and Sandeep Nailwal. The GRID connects independent builders and AI products within a shared ecosystem. Sentient Labs develops reasoning tools, evaluation systems and model-ownership technology. Its OML framework uses cryptographic model fingerprinting to support attribution and monetization.
Token allocation
The published supply is 34,359,738,368 SENT. Community initiatives, ecosystem development and the public sale account for 65.55% of the allocation. Team and investor tokens follow separate cliffs and multiyear vesting schedules. The annual 2% community emission pool sits within the existing community allocation. Unused amounts are locked at year end rather than treated as automatically distributed rewards.
Utility and coordination
SENT is the ecosystem's payment currency for supported agents, models and data services. Services can use it to pay other participating services. Staking supplies voting power for the Sentient DAO. Governance covers treasury spending, emissions and protocol upgrades. The token design also connects staking with access to artifacts and eligibility for contributor incentives.
