What is SideShift?

Exchange and distribution

SideShift began operating in 2018. It allows users to exchange assets across supported blockchain networks. XAI is an ERC-20 token with a total allocation of two hundred ten million. Forty percent was assigned to the staking reserve. Fundraising and founder allocations each account for thirty percent. The founder allocation completed its scheduled unlock in January 2023. The token is separate from both the xAI company and the Xai gaming network.

Current incentives

SideShift ended XAI staking rewards on June 3, 2026. The earlier yield-bearing staking programme should therefore be treated as a previous token function. Referral rewards remain a documented incentive. They are calculated as half a percent of referred exchange volume and paid in XAI. Integrators can also receive commissions in the token. SideShift purchases XAI in the market to fund these incentives. Those repurchases move existing tokens rather than creating a new reward supply. The original staking reserve allocation does not imply that the discontinued reward programme is still paying yield.
