What is SingularityNET?
Overview
SingularityNET addresses the gap between AI researchers and organizations seeking customized solutions by providing a decentralized platform where AI tools and services can be discovered and integrated. The network allows developers to combine specialized AI agents—such as those handling natural language processing or video analysis—to solve complex problems that no single system can address alone. Businesses and researchers use the platform to access diverse AI capabilities while AI creators gain access to larger datasets and broader markets.
How it works
The platform operates as a protocol enabling AI agents to interact and transact autonomously. When a task is requested, intelligent agents can coordinate with complementary specialists to fulfill it, with each agent compensating others for services rendered. Agents on the network retain and improve their models through knowledge gained from these interactions, allowing collective intelligence to grow faster than any individual system.
Token and supply
AGIX serves as the network's medium of exchange, enabling payments between AI agents and between users and service providers within the marketplace. The token has a maximum supply of 2 billion with a total supply of approximately 1.28 billion. AGIX is deployed across multiple blockchains including Ethereum, Cardano, and Sora.
Team and history
SingularityNET launched on December 21, 2017. Dr. Ben Goertzel leads the project as CEO and Chief Scientist, bringing expertise from the OpenCog Foundation and experience as Chief Scientist at Hanson Robotics. The team includes over 50 AI developers and 10+ PhD researchers, with Dr. David Hanson serving as Robotics Lead.
