What is SoFiUSD?
Bank issuer and purpose
SoFi Bank introduced SoFiUSD in December 2025. The issuer is a US national bank supervised by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Its parent company is SoFi Technologies. The token is designed for payments, settlement and programmable financial services. Institutional partners can integrate it into their own money movement infrastructure. SoFi also supports the asset through its consumer banking platform. Public blockchain transfers allow supported transactions to operate outside conventional banking hours.
Reserves and token mechanics
Each token is intended to be redeemable for one US dollar. Reserves consist of cash or cash equivalents, primarily cash balances held at the Federal Reserve. Token supply follows issuance and redemption rather than a predetermined mining schedule. The asset operates on supported public blockchain networks. Those networks process token transfers, while SoFi manages the reserves and redemption arrangement. SOFID is not a bank deposit and does not carry FDIC or SIPC insurance. Redemption remains subject to the issuer's terms and operational availability.
