What is Somnia?
An application chain that changed direction
Somnia introduced its token in 2025. Its initial positioning emphasized games and virtual worlds. During 2026, development expanded toward finance, prediction markets and agent applications. Reactivity and Somnia Agents reached mainnet in April 2026. These features support applications that respond to network events. SOMI pays transaction costs. Validators and delegators use it in the network's staking system. A portion of transaction fees is burned.
One billion initial tokens
The original allocation totals one billion SOMI. Community distribution receives 27.925%. Ecosystem funding receives 27.345%. Investors receive 15.15% and launch partners receive 15%. The team allocation is 11%; advisers receive 3.58%. A September 2026 announcement extended several initial vesting cliffs. Team, investor, adviser and launch-partner unlocks now begin on June 2, 2027. Later releases remain gradual. These schedules govern allocated tokens entering circulation, rather than creating a new token supply.
