What is Stargate Finance?
Cross-chain transfers
Stargate provides liquidity infrastructure for moving assets between blockchains. Its transfer system uses LayerZero messaging. Supported routes transfer assets through the protocol's cross-chain liquidity arrangements. Developers quote the required fees before submitting transfers. The protocol separates asset movement from the messaging that coordinates execution. Its documentation describes different transfer paths, including direct and batched routing.
STG conversion
Stargate governance approved a LayerZero Foundation acquisition in 2025. A token conversion program followed under terms dated August 23, 2025. The stated rate is 0.08634 ZRO for each STG. Submitted STG is permanently destroyed. Conversion is final once completed. The program exchanges the legacy asset for ZRO rather than issuing another STG staking receipt. Participation is governed by the program's eligibility and compliance terms. The remaining STG market supply consequently differs from the amount originally issued.
