What is Syndicate?
Overview
Syndicate Network allows developers to create and operate smart rollups—application-specific blockchains with customizable transaction ordering, fee structures, and governance models. Rather than relying on centralized sequencing services, the protocol moves sequencing logic into transparent smart contracts. Appchain operators and token holders use the network to deploy specialized chains while maintaining control over their economic and operational design.
How it works
Syndicate operates as a platform where appchains deploy smart sequencer contracts on the main network. Commons Chain, a Layer 3 settlement chain on Base, provides a secondary hub for network participants. Sequencing logic is executed onchain through upgradeable smart contract modules, enabling applications to modify transaction ordering and fee distribution without infrastructure changes.
Token and supply
SYND has a fixed maximum supply of 1 billion tokens. It functions as the native gas token for operations like deploying sequencer contracts and writing blocks, and as the governance token through a Wyoming DUNA structure holding 258.7 million tokens in treasury. At launch, 92% of supply was minted at genesis; the remaining 8% emits over four years. Token holders stake SYND on Commons Chain across three reward pools (Base Pool, Performance Pool, and Appchain Pool) and vote on network upgrades, treasury allocations, and partnerships.
