What is THORChain Yield?
Creditor allocation
The conversion assigned one TCY for each dollar of recognized debt. That calculation determined allocation rather than a dollar redemption promise. THORChain documents a total supply of 210 million. Eligible creditors claim through the designated interface. They need a THORChain address. Claimed tokens enter staking automatically. TCY can also be obtained through the network's market infrastructure.
Revenue rather than governance
The documented model allocates 10% of network revenue to TCY participation. Stakers receive their share in RUNE. Distributions depend on the network's revenue rather than a fixed interest rate. Income associated with unclaimed or unstaked TCY is forfeited. The current policy redirects it toward protocol-owned TCY. A RUNE/TCY pool provides a trading route. Its fees also support protocol-owned purchases. TCY does not grant THORChain governance votes. RUNE retains the network's separate settlement and validator-bonding functions.
