What is Telos?

Overview

Telos is a Layer-1 blockchain built to support real-world applications with emphasis on speed, scalability, and privacy-first design. It provides an Ethereum-compatible environment called the Telos EVM that enables developers to build on a network offering sub-second finality and protection against front-running. The platform includes a Privacy Layer that integrates zero-knowledge technology, allowing shielded transactions and confidential applications within the ecosystem itself rather than as separate protocols.

How it works

Telos uses a WASM-based architecture and operates on Delegated Proof-of-Stake consensus. The Telos EVM provides Ethereum compatibility while delivering enhanced performance characteristics and integrated privacy mechanisms through zero-knowledge proofs.

Token and supply

TLOS is the native token of the Telos network. The total supply is approximately 467.6 million tokens with no maximum supply cap. Token contracts are deployed across multiple chains including Ethereum, Base, BNB Chain, Polygon, Arbitrum, and Avalanche.
