What is The Innovation Game?
Computational competition
The protocol organises work into computational challenges. Innovators develop algorithms that solve those challenges more effectively. Benchmarkers run the algorithms and compete on their results. Better implementations can replace weaker approaches within the competition. Challenge owners provide the problem categories that participants address. The mechanism is called Optimisable Proof of Work.
Incentives
The reward system distinguishes benchmarking work, algorithm advances, code contributions and challenge ownership. Rewards are divided between these activities under the protocol's allocation rules. This arrangement pays for both execution and improvements to the methods being executed. A vault retains part of the allocation when fewer challenges are active. Commercial licensing of useful algorithms is also part of the planned long-term economic model.
Supply schedule
TIG is an ERC-20 token on Base. Its maximum allocation is one hundred thirty-one million, forty thousand tokens. Distribution is organised into five equal tranches with progressively longer durations. The first tranche began on November 24, 2023. After the scheduled tranches, the documented model relies on licensing income for further rewards rather than a new unlimited token emission.
