What is TrueUSD?
Token and networks
TrueUSD targets one US dollar per token. Its first deployment was on Ethereum. Native deployments also include TRON, Avalanche and BNB Smart Chain. Each deployment follows the token and transaction rules of its host network. Transfer costs depend on the chain's fees and network conditions.
Reserves and reporting
The reserve framework covers tokens in public circulation with fiat-denominated assets. Banking partners manage the underlying cash and related investments. The operator publishes independent reserve attestations. Chainlink provides onchain access to proof-of-reserve information. Returns earned on the reserve portfolio support the service's costs rather than automatically accruing to token holders.
Supply and redemption
Direct minting and redemption require an eligible verified account. Transactions are subject to banking procedures and compliance checks. New tokens are created through the fiat issuance process. Redemption availability depends on processing controls and liquidity. Supply follows issuance and redemption rather than a fixed mining reward schedule. Secondary-market prices can depart from the dollar reference value.
