What is USDsui?
Launch and purpose
Sui announced USDsui in November 2025. It went live on Sui mainnet on March 4, 2026. Bridge, a Stripe company, supplies the issuance infrastructure. The token is designed for cross-border payments, remittances and peer-to-peer transfers. Its launch integrations included Slush, Cetus, NAVI, Scallop and Suilend. It also connects to other Bridge-issued stablecoins through the provider's infrastructure.
Issuance and backing
Bridge's Open Issuance system manages minting, burning and reserves. Issued stablecoins are backed one-for-one by cash and US Treasuries. New tokens are created through the provider's issuance process. Redemption burns tokens in exchange for fiat or other supported assets. Reserve earnings can be shared with the sponsoring ecosystem after issuance fees. Bridge provides compliance controls for these operations.
On-chain transfers
USDsui operates as a native Sui asset. Sui's programmable transactions let applications combine payments with contract operations. Supported peer-to-peer USDsui transfers qualify for the network's zero-gas transfer mechanism. That mechanism lets users send the stablecoin without maintaining a separate SUI balance for the transfer.
