What is Usual?
Supply model
USUAL’s token generation event took place on November 25, 2024. Its initial maximum issuance was four billion tokens. The November 2025 UIP-11 vote reduced that figure to three billion. It also cut daily emissions to approximately 1.35 million. The current distribution schedule runs through June 2028. These parameters remain subject to the protocol’s governance framework.
Staking and decisions
Staking USUAL produces the transferable USUALx receipt. Locked USUALx positions participate in the Revenue Switch. That mechanism distributes the community’s revenue share weekly in USD0. The rewards are separate from USUAL-denominated emissions. Usual’s collateral income primarily comes from assets backing its USD0 stablecoin. USUAL itself is not redeemable at a fixed dollar price. Governance covers collateral admission, fees and emission settings. It also determines treasury spending and revenue allocation. Approved proposals can change the protocol’s economic parameters.
