What is WEMIX?
Mainnet and applications
Wemade launched the WEMIX3.0 mainnet on October 20, 2022. The network uses the Ethereum execution model, allowing Solidity contracts and familiar EVM tooling. WEMIX covers the gas required for transfers and contract execution. WEMIX PLAY connects the ecosystem to blockchain games and their digital assets. NILE supplies infrastructure for NFT and DAO applications. The earlier Klaytn-based asset was renamed WEMIX Classic during the mainnet transition.
Validation and delegation
WEMIX3.0 uses Stake-based Proof of Authority. Its authority validators are the 40 Node Council Partners known as WONDERS. WONDER Staking allows holders to delegate WEMIX to these validators. Delegation contributes to a validator's stake and determines participation in its reward pool. Validator partners also participate in decisions affecting the network's operation.
Supply parameters
The Brioche hard fork reduced the maximum supply to 590 million WEMIX. It introduced block-based halvings for newly minted rewards. Each halving cycle spans 63,115,200 blocks. The first halving reduced the original reward of one WEMIX per block by half. This issuance schedule funds validation while progressively reducing the rate at which new coins enter supply.
