Overview
Gonka is a decentralized network for AI inference and training where participants contribute GPU compute capacity in exchange for rewards. Hosts earn tokens by providing computational resources, developers deploy AI applications without reliance on centralized cloud providers, and users generate demand through inference requests. The network's consensus mechanism directs computing power toward meaningful AI work instead of wasteful proof-of-work tasks.
How it works
Gonka operates on a native proof-of-work blockchain with a novel consensus design that repurposes mining difficulty toward AI computation. The network has achieved approximately 10 thousand H100 GPU equivalents in aggregate capacity. Token holders and network participants interact through a system where computational contribution is directly rewarded.
Token and supply
GNK represents AI compute as a digital asset and is the network's primary incentive mechanism. WGNK is the Ethereum-based wrapped version of GNK. Maximum supply is capped at 1 billion tokens, with approximately 9 million currently in existence. New tokens are issued to network participants through mining and designated incentive programs.
Team and history
Gonka was incubated by Product Science Inc., founded by the Libermans Siblings, former Product Directors at Snap Inc. Development began in 2024 and completed in February 2025, with mainnet launch in August 2025.
