What is Yellow?
Network design
The network uses Nitrolite state-channel infrastructure. Participants exchange signed state updates off-chain. Blockchain contracts handle deposits, settlement and challenges. This reduces the need to publish every interaction on-chain. Yellow is designed to connect activity across supported networks.
Security and access
Node operators post YELLOW as collateral. Fraud proofs can slash that collateral. Larger account responsibilities require larger deposits. YELLOW also pays service access fees for clearing, settlement and data services. Application builders post collateral as a service-quality guarantee.
Token parameters
The ERC-20 contract creates ten billion YELLOW at deployment. Its supply has no later minting or token-burning mechanism. It supports signed approvals through EIP-2612. Tokens provide service access rather than shares in the operator. Protocol administration requires running a node rather than merely holding a balance.
