What is YLDS?
Issuer and legal structure
Figure introduced YLDS in February 2025. Figure Certificate Company is the issuer of the underlying face-amount certificates. These are registered securities and unsecured obligations of the issuer. The certificates are supported by its assets and required reserves, rather than a direct ownership claim on a particular Treasury security.
Blockchain transfers
YLDS records issuance, ownership changes and surrender on Provenance Blockchain. Approved investors can transfer certificates between eligible wallets. The transfer agent maintains the official ownership record through its blockchain-integrated system. Purchase and transfer access require identity verification and approval, so the token's availability follows securities eligibility rules.
Interest and reserves
The certificate interest rate follows overnight SOFR after the deduction specified in the applicable terms. Interest accrues daily and is settled monthly. Monthly proceeds can be reinvested in additional certificates, increasing the holder's balance. The issuer intends to hold substantially all of its reserves in short-term Treasury securities and Treasury-backed repurchase agreements.
Issuance and use
Subscriptions create additional certificates, while surrender reduces the outstanding balance. Issuance responds to investor purchases rather than a fixed mining reward or scarce supply schedule. The asset can support dollar settlement and eligible lending activities within Figure's services. Blockchain transfers operate beyond ordinary banking hours, while cash movement remains subject to banking and account processing. YLDS carries an issuer repayment obligation and is not an insured bank deposit.
