What is Zora?

Issue and allocation

The ZORA token generation event took place on March 11, 2025. The published initial total supply was ten billion tokens. Allocations cover community incentives, the airdrop, liquidity, treasury, team and investors. Treasury, team and investor allocations have vesting schedules. ZORA does not confer ownership of Zora's business. The issuer also excludes tokenholder governance rights. The initial community distribution included eligible creators, collectors and developers.

Creator markets

Zora's Coins protocol uses Uniswap v4 pools and custom hooks. Creator Coins connect individual creators to their own tradable token markets. Content Coins represent individual posts within that economy. Trend Coins are another market format supported by the protocol. ZORA acts as a shared trading and reward currency in these markets. Trading rewards can flow to creators, referrals and the protocol. The supply rules for an individual Creator Coin are separate from ZORA's ten-billion-token allocation.
