Robinhood Chain Overview: TVL, Launchpads, DeFi and Tokenomics

Robinhood's Arbitrum-based layer 2 three months after mainnet: about $1.05 billion in DeFi TVL, Morpho and Uniswap at the core, a memecoin boom on the Pons launchpad, no native token, tokenized stocks as debt notes, and the centralization risks L2Beat flags.

Robinhood Chain went live on July 1, 2026 with a clear pitch: a blockchain built for tokenized stocks and real-world assets, trading 24/7. Three months later it has about $1 billion in DeFi TVL, billions in daily DEX volume — and a market that is driven as much by memecoins as by stocks. This is an overview of what the chain is, where the money sits, which platforms launch tokens there, and what to watch.

All figures were read on October 6, 2026 unless another date is given. Trackers measure value differently, so where they disagree both numbers are shown.

Launch partners included Uniswap, Chainlink, Alchemy, BitGo and Pleiades, with Lighter, 1inch, Morpho, Steakhouse, Ethena, Spark, Maple and Arcus integrating from day one. For its first 90 days Robinhood paid gas for transactions sent from Robinhood Wallet; the subsidy ended on September 29, 2026.

TVL and activity

TVL grew from almost nothing in June to around a billion dollars:

DateValueSource
~July 8~$100M, ~$90M of it in MorphoYahoo Finance
Sept 3$791M DeFi TVL; $2.78B bridgedinsights4vc
Sept 27$1.027B, +60.5% in a monthChainCatcher
Oct 6$1.05B DeFi TVL; $3.04B bridgedDefiLlama
Oct 6$2.68B total value securedL2Beat

The difference between the numbers is methodology: DefiLlama's TVL counts assets deposited in DeFi protocols, while "bridged" and "value secured" count everything sitting on the chain, including idle tokens.

Activity is heavy. In its first two months the chain processed 576 million transactions from 12.3 million active addresses and $34.6 billion of DEX volume, per insights4vc. On October 6 DefiLlama showed about $1 billion in 24-hour DEX volume and $1.17 billion in perps volume. The largest stablecoin is USDG, about two thirds of the chain's $1.08 billion in stablecoins.

DeFi on Robinhood Chain

ProtocolCategoryTVL (DefiLlama, Oct 6)
Morpho BlueLending$601.9M
Steakhouse FinancialCurated lending vaults (on Morpho)$534.5M
UniswapDEX$251.1M
LighterPerpetuals$56M (Sept 3)

Morpho and Steakhouse overlap — Steakhouse runs vaults that lend through Morpho — so their numbers should not be added together.

Uniswap is by far the main exchange: Uniswap v3 handled $24.0 billion and v4 $19.4 billion over 30 days to late September, with Ramses third at $1.9 billion, according to CryptoTicker. Ethena, Spark, Maple and 1inch are integrated, and Chainlink supplies prices. Across 207 protocols the chain had generated $694 million in fees by late September.

Token launchpads and memecoins

Despite the stock-token pitch, memecoins took off from the first week.

  • Pons is the dominant launchpad: 646,000 tokens created and $179.85 million in fees by September 28, and $184.9 million in fees by October 1. Its own token, PONS, had a market cap of about $342 million in early September.
  • Memecoin.fun raised $3.5 million in July, led by Becker Ventures.
  • Vlad.fun halted on July 16 citing an "internal integrity issue", and Noxa shut down on July 13.
  • Other launchpads such as hood.fun, LaunchHood and Robinlaunch are live, without verified volume figures.
  • Trading terminals earn heavily: GMGN made $30.7 million in 30-day fees, Fomo $17.6 million and Axiom $7.2 million.

The best-known memecoin is CASHCAT, worth about $168 million on October 1 and added to the Robinhood app on August 6 — although the project says it has no affiliation with Robinhood. Launchpad fees fell 43% in the week after gas subsidies ended, a first sign of how much activity depended on free transactions. Sources: CryptoTicker, Cointelegraph, Bloomingbit.

Tokenomics: there is no chain token

Robinhood Chain has no native token, no airdrop and no official points program. Gas is paid in ETH, according to crypto.news. HOOD is Robinhood Markets' Nasdaq-listed stock, not a crypto token. Any "Robinhood Chain token" or "official airdrop" site is a scam until Robinhood announces otherwise — the CEO's X account was even hacked on July 23 to promote a fake "Vladhood" token, per CoinDesk.

The only token incentive tied to the launch came from a partner: Lighter set aside $11 million of its own LIT token for Robinhood users.

Tokenized stocks

The stock tokens are issued by Robinhood Assets (Jersey) Limited and are debt securities, not shares: no voting rights and no direct ownership, per TechTimes. They are available in 120+ countries but not in the US, Canada, the UK, Switzerland or the UAE. Splits and dividends are handled by adjusting a per-token multiplier, which Chainlink price feeds take into account, according to Robinhood's documentation. Redemption and voting rights are planned but not live. More than 190 stock tokens were deployed on-chain by early September.

For how stock tokens compare with stock perps and real shares, see TradFi in Crypto.

Risks to watch

  • Centralization. L2Beat does not yet rate the chain even Stage 0: a multisig can upgrade contracts instantly, only two whitelisted validators can challenge fraud, the sequencer can filter transactions, and Robinhood controls transaction ordering.
  • Outages. Block production stalled for at least 14 minutes on September 4, without a published cause or public status page, per CryptoRank.
  • Memecoin dependence. A large part of volume and fees comes from launchpads and trading bots, and it dropped quickly when free gas ended.
  • Off-hours stock pricing. Stock tokens trade at premiums or discounts when the stock market is closed — tokenized HIMS traded at a weekend premium, per insights4vc.
  • Fake tokens and impersonation. Check every contract address against official sources, and read how honeypots work before buying new launches.

Bottom line

Robinhood Chain has grown faster than most new layer 2s, mainly through lending on Morpho, Uniswap volume and a memecoin boom on Pons. Its stock tokens are the long-term story, but today they are IOUs from a Jersey issuer on a chain that Robinhood fully controls. Watch whether TVL holds now that gas is no longer free, and whether redemption and voting rights arrive as planned.
