What is The Interfold?
Encrypted execution
Interfold uses Encrypted Execution Environments, or E3s. Inputs remain encrypted while participating nodes perform computations. Fully homomorphic encryption allows those computations without exposing the underlying values. Committees generate and distribute key material through a distributed key-generation process. Threshold decryption reveals the permitted result rather than every participant's input. Cryptographic proofs support verification of the execution.
Operators and payments
Operators bond FOLD when registering with the network. The mainnet registration system also uses collateral tickets denominated in sUSDS. These tickets are separate from the FOLD bond. Computation fees are denominated in USDS. FOLD's role therefore concerns operator participation and governance rather than the denomination of every payment.
Supply
FOLD has a fixed supply of 1.2 billion tokens. Minting was closed after the token-generation event. General token transferability began on August 19, 2026. Community allocations represent 55.5% of the supply. The remaining allocation covers Gnosis Guild, investors and the team. Several allocations follow multiyear vesting schedules.
