What is MAX?
Exchange utility
MAX can pay fees within the exchange. The platform applies discounts or exemptions according to its published rules. Token holders can participate in reward distributions. Locking tokens increases their weighting in the reward calculation. Longer lock duration can add further weighting. Locked tokens cannot be traded or withdrawn until unlocked. Unlocking can reset the time-based weighting under the program's rules.
Issuance and burns
The original issuance allocation totaled five hundred million MAX. The token was distributed through rewards and ecosystem allocations rather than a public fundraising sale. Part of the initial trading-reward allocation was burned when that program ended in 2019. Further burns have reduced the issued supply. The exchange converts part of fee revenue into MAX for its holder reward system. Fees received in MAX may also be burned periodically. Reward amounts depend on platform activity and each participant's weighting. MAX is a utility asset and does not confer equity in the exchange.
